It’s that time of year; the one where I tell you that you’ll miss out on a good thing if you don’t check out Vancouver’s Rendez-vous French Film Festival. The Festival is a young twenty- two years old this year and you can catch it from February 4th to February 14th at various locations around the city.
What makes this such a great festival? Well, it’s a wonderful window into a vibrant community in our city, they program a diverse cross-section of films so there’s something for everyone and the enthusiasm of the crowds contributes a great energy to the theatre experience.
This year’s opening gala film is Paul a Quebec, a film based on a comic strip that is an homage to the resilience of family. It’s heart-felt, humourous, and charming; a sensitive film made for adults that never talks down to its audience.
